An Update on Ryan and all the things he can do :-)

Ryan is changing so fast everyday that I almost can't keep up with it all. I was watching videos of him from just a few months ago and I can't even believe that he once couldn't crawl, walk, or talk. Here are some of the things that he is doing now:

*He sings the ABC's and Twinkle Twinkle.
*He can count to 14.
*Follows one and two-step verbal directions.
*He will pee in the potty when in the mood. We're not potty training just yet.
*"Reads" books to himself and has started to memorize some of his favorites.
*He speaks in complete sentences and runs his mouth from sun-up to sundown!
*He feeds the dog & cat by himself.
*We're working on yes ma'am, no sir, etc.
*He says please, thank you, & you're welcome when reminded.
*He can climb the ladder on his swingset and slides by himself.
*He chooses his own book for naptime & bedtime story.
*He is doing well in his big boy bed, but has to have 4,567,983 "loveys" in bed with him! There is barely room for Ryan!
*He is a Lego maniac and can build towers by himself. He will sit for 10-15 min. now!!
*He can climb into his booster seat by himself.
*He asks for juice & snacks now and can tell me when he's hungry or thirsty.
*He's just starting to have a small opinion about his clothing, but mostly his shoes!
*He is very affectionate and loves to give hugs and kisses to everyone and everything.
*He loves to feed our neighborhood ducks and says Hi to "Big Guy", his favorite duck, everytime we go.
*He jumps on the trampoline alone, walks the low balance beam (with help), and can climb all the obstacles at tumbling class.
*He is proving to have his mommy's memory. He remembers things incredibly well and can recite what he's seen or done weeks after it happened. He is still talking about his trip to my parents' house back in March!
*He loves to give the "Litter Box Report" every morning after breakfast. We have a Littermaid automatic cat box. He will go over to see if the light is blinking and it's stuck. He will report to me if the "T-potty OK" or "T-potty stuck" EVERY day. (T is kitty in Ryan-ese).

  3. Such a cute update. Ryan and Amelia are a lot alike! Brilliant over-achievers, of course :)

Amelia "checks" the litter box too. She looks at it daily and exclaims, "Look, Mommy! Cat potty. Yucky!"

These kids are great. We should keep them.
