Making Christmas Ornaments

My friend Tiffany sent me a great recipe for making salt dough ornaments so I decided to give it a try with Ryan last week. We had a fun afternoon getting messy and now we have a whole new collection for our Christmas tree!!

Here he is pressing out the shapes. He is making a dog bone shape for Sputnik. This was his favorite part of the whole project.

Hmmm, which one do I choose next?

The next day after the ornaments were baked and cooled, we painted them! I used Crayola Kid's paint and let Ryan go at it. This was the only ornament he painted as he lost interest pretty fast. He's still little so I wasn't even expecting him to do this much. He had fun painting his Christmas tree.

Here are our finished products. Ryan's tree is 2nd row, 1st ornament ;-)
Aunt Cristy painted the red star and the stocking with her dog Tabasco on it...great job!
I did the rest and had a great time. I love art projects and can't wait until Ryan is older so we can do more.
