For our vacation this year, we embarked on a week's trip to Philadelphia, PA! We went to visit my sister and brother in law who have lived there a year now. We flew out on June 16. Ryan was a super trooper on the plane and never made a peep. I love my good boy!
Daddy & Ryan at the airport ready to go!
Mom and I are ready too.
My sweet little family. Patrick was with us in spirit.
On the plane ready for take off!
Ryan was hooked up thanks to Daddy.
We arrived in Philadelphia and Mom's suitcase clogged up the bag claim. She has a nice dent in the side of it now. Mine was right in front of hers and was stuck a little, but no damage. We waited and waited for them to unclog the works. Once we got our bags, we ate lunch at a hot dog stand in the airport. Then we headed outside to catch the SEPTA train to take us to the University City station near Cristy & Ethan's apartment.
Once we arrived, we walked about 20 minutes to get to her house. Cristy met us at the station, so we had the scenic tour on the way. How DIFFERENT it was to what I am used to.
Poor J.R. He had just had surgery on his leg and was sporting the cone of shame for 11 days. He only pulled it off once when we were there. He was very tolerant of it. Poor boy.
Ryan was SO glad to see his Aunt Cristy. She gave us the tour of her apartment and then we took off for New Jersey to get groceries. It was only a 25 minute drive and I am now in love with Wegman's grocery stores. It's like Whole Foods and Publix times 5! What a huge and fun place to shop!
On the way we stopped at Chick-Fil-A to meet a friend of mine. Kami and I have been Internet friends for 4 years now. Her daughter Macey, is 11 days older than Ryan. We belong to a group for April 2008 babies. It was so good to finally meet her in person. Macey and Ryan had fun playing on the playground...and Ryan devoured his Kid's Meal.
That evening, we were pretty wiped out after a big day of traveling. We settled in, but Ryan HAD to feed J.R. and Tabasco himself. He loved helping his Aunt Cristy.
Stay tuned for Day 2!

What a fun trip! Can't wait to the next post!
